For some of you, maybe living in Japan is synonymous with work and work. When I first came to Japan, I had imagined that my time would be filled with work without time to play.
However, it turns out that is not true. There are so many exciting things to do that we don't have enough time to try them all!
Don't worry, you don't need to wear a suit on holiday, unless you want to!
There are many festivals and events.
Almost every weekend there will be an event somewhere. Japanese people like to play word games on everything. Even November 11 was set to be "Pocky Day" only because the 11/11 figure was similar to the chocolate-coated stem.
The festival in Japan is endless. Every festival celebrates everything that people might think. Not to mention events and festivals related to the season in Japan.
Theme parks, themed restaurants, and anything that has a theme.
Tokyo Disneyland is one of the largest and most famous amusement parks in Japan. However, there are still many other interesting theme parks besides Tokyo Disneyland, such as the Naruto X Boruto Themed Attraction which has just opened in Fuji-Q Highland or a themed hotel run by a robot ( Hen na Hotel ). There is not enough time to visit all of them!
Holidays in Japan are often extended on weekends.
One of the best things in Japan is that most holidays in Japan don't fall in the middle of the week. This has actually been determined by law, if a national holiday falls on a Sunday, the next working day can be a public holiday also known as furikae kyuujitsu .
In addition, every day that falls between two national holidays is also a holiday (aka kokumin no kyuujitsu ). This is referred to as the Golden Week in Japan.
Then, the Happy Monday System, which was introduced in 1998 to 2001, moved several holidays to Monday to ensure a long and beautiful weekend. This is actually the most common pattern today.
What can be said? For a country that is often labeled a workaholic, Japanese people still love their holidays!
One day trip
Whether it's a shopping center in Tokyo, the snow country of Hokkaido, or the sunny beaches on Okinawa, there are so many places to explore in Japan.
All of these places can be a one-day trip or weekend getaway for you with friends, depending on where you are. For example, a trip from Tokyo to Osaka using a fast train (shinkansen) is only around 2.5 hours and a flight from Tokyo to Hokkaido is only about 2 hours.
With Japan's excellent transportation system, people can go anywhere in the island nation.
Food in Japan has an amazing taste every time. There are many specialties or specialties in each prefecture that people might normally regard as the food capital.
Many facilities that can be enjoyed every week well!
For those whose holidays fall on weekdays or want to find fun things to do after work, there are plenty of activities and discount promos held on weekdays too.
For example, Wednesday is called Women's Day at the cinema and women can enjoy discounted movie tickets on that day. Not only in theaters, some shops also use the same discount. People can enjoy discount drinks at izakaya and pubs during Happy Hour.
There are many endless things to do in Japan, even though we have lived for five years. You will find lots of exciting things in this country.
